This program is approved by FDACS to award State of Florida Pesticide Applicator CEUs to program participants who complete the course.

The emerald ash borer, introduced by importation of infested solid wood packing material from Asia, has killed tens of millions of ash trees in the U.S. The Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) larvae feed on the inner bark resulting in a hollow area under the bark and slowly kill hardwood trees. The cottonseed bug (Oxycarenus hyalinipennis) is an important pest of cotton and other crops that belong to the Malvaceae family (mallow family).
