The larvae of moths can be major pests on crops such as the ‘European pepper moth’ (not to be confused with the ‘European peppered moth’) which has become a significant pest in ornamental plant production. In addition, the crambid moth called the Mexican rice borer, Eoreuma loftini, while presently limited in distribution in the United States, this species has the potential to become a major pest for Florida. Don’t forget about the Light Brown Apple Moth which is an invasive pest posing an economic and environmental threat to Florida. The learning objectives are to understand the following regarding the pests:

• Hosts
• Distribution
• Damage
• Life Cycle
• Identification
• Monitoring
