Full course description

For decades, Florida has experienced repeated invasions of whitefly species. In this module you will learn about whiteflies that are recently established into Florida’s landscape. Newly introduced whitefly species may be especially troublesome because they do not have the natural predators, diseases, parasites and parasitoids that helped control them in their native environment and there is often little or no information on these pests in their native countries. The learning objectives are to understand the following regarding the pests:

• Hosts
• Damage
• Life Cycle
• Identification
• Monitoring
• Biological Control
• Chemical Control
• Cultural Control
