Texas Phoenix Palm Decline (TPPD) is a palm disease caused by a phytoplasma, a specialized unculturable bacterium without a cell wall, and has symptoms almost identical to lethal yellowing. Red ring disease affects coconut palms and is caused by the red ring nematode (Bursaphelenchus cocophilus), though this nematode may also be known as the coconut palm nematode.
